More than 500 people from the municipality of Murcia have been served through the ACCEDER programs and promoted by the Fundación Desarrollo Gitano.
ACCEDER is the name of the program that this group manages since 2000 in the framework where the incorporation to employment, and the fight against social exclusion and discrimination, favoring access to the labor market are the main objectives that are pursued.
This project has achieved important results in the municipality of Murcia, as more than 1,500 job insertions and has improved the qualification and employment opportunities to a total of 1117 people through 230 training actions.
Thus, the Councilor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, who this morning met with members of the Foundation, said that "a total awareness of society must be achieved on the prejudices and discriminatory practices of which the Roma Are victims, as well as progressively improve their social image. "
From the Promotional program, 47 students, 38 families and 18 schools from Barriomar, El Carmen, El Palmar, San Andrés, Cabezo de Torres, El Progreso, Espinardo, Infante Juan Manuel, The Fame and La Paz.
The actions developed are of individualized educational orientation with students, with group families and with educational centers.
Ruiz Caballero explained the importance of training this group to have equal employment opportunities and conditions, as well as a real inclusion that allows the breakdown of stereotypes by society as a whole. "
The City of Murcia allocates a total amount of 75,000 euros to the Gypsy Secretariat.
