One thousand and a half of this course students will participate in mobility programs UMU (21/09/2016)

The University of Murcia (UMU) held tomorrow, Thursday, the act of welcoming foreign students who attend college in the Murcian institution during the current academic year.

In total, more than 1,500 students who participate in mobility programs managed by the Department of International Relations of the University of Murcia.

Most of them, 75% of the total, is part of Erasmus Studies program, with 682 pupils of the UMU that made stays in over 400 European partner universities and 447 foreign students in classrooms of the University of Murcia during the first term.

In addition, through an agreement between the Campus Mare Nostrum (CMN) and the National Social Security Institute (INPS) in Italy, the University of Murcia will receive 27 students to study master.

Also in Europe, and under the Erasmus Placement program, 35 students are leaving UMU students and 13 undergraduate, master's, doctoral or recent graduates arrive.

Mobility in Latin America is mainly structured under the ILA program, in which students participate murcianos 79;

of which 22 enjoy aid of 3,000 euros for Banco Santander and 38 other aid of 2,000 euros financed by the University of Murcia sponsored.

There are also other exchange programs with Latin America, as MESCYT grants, for which the UMU receive 17 masters students from the Dominican Republic, and the Cruz del Sur project, which has facilitated mobility with Latin American universities of 11 outgoing students and 29 starters.

Exchanges of UMU with the United States are held under the ISEP program, with 18 students departure and 24 arrival, although the figure is increased to 10 students sent and 8 received through bilateral agreements with universities that country as Oregon State, Millikin, Southern Utah, West Virginia and Simpson College.

Asian countries, and under an agreement with the Communication University of China, School of Communication and Information of the UMU receives 11 students.

New for this course include the new ERSMUSMI program of international mobility of students and staff.

Through it, they made stays in the UMU 32 students and 16 teachers and administrative and service staff Taiwan, Thailand, China, Indonesia, Azerbaijan and Morocco;

countries to traveling 5 students and 17 beneficiaries PDI / PAS of the University of Murcia.
