More than two decades'restaurando' job opportunities through an alternative network of mutual support (10/05/2016)

The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, Councillor of Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, and the Councillor for Youth and Development Cooperation, Rebeca Perez, vistaron today the premises of the headquarters in Murcia of Emmaus, a solidarity organization that promotes job placement through the collection of goods and its restoration, in working people at risk of social exclusion, through the shelter of the association and its employment programs.

During his visit, the mayor and the councilors toured the Community of Madrid, the house-residence where they currently reside 16 people, as well as the Labor Zone, which employs more than 50 workers, with workshops, reception areas of goods, area trail and retail.

Currently, the Traperos Association Emmaus and the City of Murcia, through the Municipal Department of Social Services, have signed a collaboration agreement for the development of the proposed placement of persons at risk of social exclusion for an annual amount of € 50,000.

In addition to annual grants, the Consistory provides support through other technical collaborations.
