People with intellectual disabilities will practice at City Hall to facilitate their entry into employment (08/04/2016)

The Governing Board has given its approval at its meeting this morning to an agreement of the Department of Administration Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation with the Association for the Integration of Persons with Intellectual Disability (CEOM) through which people with intellectual disabilities perform training practices at City Hall.

So soon they conduct training practices for six months two students one in the Service of Information and Citizen Service and other Social Services (Asylum Shop).

Councilman Jose Guillen explained that with this agreement "we seek to promote actions aimed at promoting social and professional integration of people with physical or intellectual disabilities, promoting their work and employability capacity through conducting pre-employment practices, and continuity in the actual occupation of the workplace through their recruitment training, in order to achieve adequate theoretical and practical training, and experience needed in the workplace ".

Completion of labor practices, will be managed at the Public Employment Services recruitment training for workers who have passed the practical stage for which the contract for training and learning takes place, for an initial period of one year duration.

The City Council also subsidizes CEOM to carry out the project 'Housing tutored for people with intellectual disabilities' whose aim is to launch and available to people with mental disabilities who request and their families, the resources so they can start an approach, training and learning model independent housing the family, preventive and integrated into the community in order to promote social inclusion, promote standardization, pursue the identification of the person with mental disabilities or their right to be addressed so as to provide for their individual needs and personal differences and increase the quality of life of the people involved.
