The City of Murcia program more than 100 free activities in the 16 libraries that are part of the Municipal Network (08/04/2016)

Concerts, children's theater, puppet shows, storytelling, magic sessions, workshops and craft illustration and chess courses are some of the free activities that are part of the program of cultural and leisure activities MMFN.

They will take place between April and June 2016

The Councillor for Education, University Relations and Heritage, Rafael Gomez Carrasco, presented this morning the more than 100 activities will be carried out in the 16 libraries Municipalde Network Libraries Murcia (RMBM) between the months of April and June this year.

Concerts, children's theater, puppet shows, storytelling, magic sessions, workshops and craft illustration and chess courses are some of the free activities that are part of the program of cultural and leisure activities MMFN.

Recipients include programming at children, family, adults and students in schools.

The main reason, according to Gomez Carrasco said, is "the promotion of reading through different routes, one of which is performing regular activities for all age groups present in the libraries."

Thus stated the mayor, "libraries citizenship approach with dynamic and playful cultural offerings that help enhance the taste for books and reading and to deepen the use of center resources."

A planned activities must be added the II Selfies Library, open to all citizens who want to participate and holding the Segura River Library, awarded 3 electronic books.

April 23 is a symbolic date for world literature because in 1616 died Cervantes, Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega.

Therefore, the General Conference of UNESCO, held in Paris in 1995, as recalled by the Minister of Education, decided to pay a universal tribute to books and authors on this date, encouraging everyone, and in particular young people, discover the pleasure of reading and to value the irreplaceable contributions of those who have promoted the social and cultural progress of humanity.

In addition it is developing during the April workshop 'painted words' which takes a journey through the figure of the writer Miguel de Cervantes, where students of all educational stages embodied through drawing and painting his vision of the writer.

The workshop is run by the artist Katarzyna Rogowicz and exposure of the work done will be held on April 22 in the Patio de Armas Artillery Barracks.

Finally, the writer Paco Lopez Mengual guide on April 23 at 10:30 and 21:00 a tour of the center of Murcia, telling old stories and legends of the municipality.
