Conferences and round tables on zebrafish, the tiger mosquito and DNA, among others, are some of the activities scheduled for the week of the Faculty of Biology, University of Murcia (UMU), held from today until on Friday.
Week, which reaches its twenty-ninth edition, has the objective, as noted Alfonsa García, dean of the center-to spread to society the many facets related to biology, biotechnology and environmental sciences.
As in previous years, there is provided an open day, especially aimed at students of 4th of ESO and Bachiller, with which it is intended to present the degrees offered at the School to more than 600 school of the Region of Murcia.
In addition, they carry out visits to museums José Loustau and Soil, exhibitions of native plants (which has helped the forest nursery Alhárabe Moratalla), scientific photographs and school drawings as well as the awards of the competitions organized.
This year also includes a tribute to retired teachers, the placement on the outgoing dean, Professor José Meseguer, and the discovery of Rector José Loustau bust in the hall of the center.
