Murcia holds the presidency of the Spanish Committee of the Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean (17/02/2016)

The Councillor for Youth and Development Cooperation, Rebeca Perez, met in Malaga with the Spanish Committee of the Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean for the transfer of the chairmanship of the Committee Spanish city of Murcia for two years.

This initiative is aimed at young artists between 16 and 30 years of European countries and the Mediterranean basin.

The City of Murcia, through CreaMurcia of the Youth Council program provides the opportunity to participate in the biennial loocales the most outstanding artists in different artistic disciplines.

In recent years the International Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean has become the most important window of novice creators in the various forms of art: architecture, video, comics, fashion talk, performing arts, dance arts, music, gastronomy, literature, etc.

Spain is represented in the Association by eight cities: Malaga, Madrid, Murcia, Seville, Jerez de la Frontera, Alicante, Salamanca and Valencia, through the Department of Youth of the respective municipalities.

Other countries that are part of this dynamic project of culture and its relationship with the young are Italy, France, Portugal, Bosnia, Croatia, Greece, Finland and Slovenia, among others.

Mediterranean countries such as Lebanon, Jordan, Tunisia and Egypt are also present.
