Students at the General Air Academy were received today for the first time in the Hall of City Hall.
The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, accompanied by members of the Municipal Corporation, welcomed a total of 90 new students of this training center is located in San Javier, which is responsible for educating future officers of the Army from air.
"We wanted the General Air Academy as an institution with close ties with the city of Murcia, it was received in the Plenary Hall in the seventy-first promotion of 90 new students, who tomorrow will be the leaders of our Air Force" he said during his speech José Ballesta, who was accompanied by Lieutenant Colonel and Head of Studies, Melecio Hernandez.
Early in the morning, took place the traditional visit to the Shrine of Fuensanta where the offering was made the patron saint of Murcia and students accessed the chapel of the Virgin.
After the reception at the Plenary Hall, the young people had the opportunity to enjoy a guided tour of the Cathedral of Murcia, the Casino and Salzillo Museum.
The ceremony was also attended by the Head of Student and Squadron Commander, Francisco J. Moreno;
Chief of Course and Captain Carlos Aparicio;
Chief Course and Captain John P. Ruiz;
the chaplain of the AGA, Ildefonso Valcárcel;
and Unity Music for the ceremony at the Shrine of Our Lady of Fuensanta.
