Lola Sánchez Nuria Fuentes and prizes are awarded to students who know more driver education (17/06/2010)

Ensure learning and compliance with traffic laws and promote awareness raising and prevention of accidents are the basic objectives of road safety education, whose purpose is that the students of today are good drivers in the future.

And some should practice this skill and, since 14 years have the possibility of using a moped.

With this objective, the City of Murcia has been calling for 21 years Education Local Competition Road Accident Prevention and whose awards were presented this morning the councilors of Education and Youth and Traffic Safety, Lola Sanchez, Nuria Fuentes, respectively.

This year's celebration of the competition coincides with data that may call for some optimism.

Between January and May 2010, compared with the same period in 2009, there has been a 16% decline in the number of accidents involving motorcycles.

Moreover, both minor injuries, such as bass, have also been reduced (31% and 18% respectively).

In this sense, Lola Sanchez has stated that "we do not feel satisfied until we can speak of zero accidents, but we have reason to believe that initiatives like this competition we are laying the groundwork to make that dream more feasible."

Of the 5,219 students invited to participate, 4001, 76% -, 49 schools, 75% of the 64 existing-have addressed this issue.

Of all of them are expected to become the future in good conductors.

To do this, students had to overcome various multiple-choice tests over 3 phases developed in recent months.

The competition assesses both participation of centers as individual effort made by students.

The contest began last February and ended on 11 May.

Thus, the 1st phase, conducted during March-ended with the intervention of 4001 students from 49 schools.

Were ranked the 450 students who obtained more than 80 points.

The second phase was held on April 20 in the auditorium of the local police, where they competed individually and the score is added to that of teammates.

There were 150 teams.

The third and final phase took place on 11 May.

She agreed 17 teams with 51 students.

2 nd Prize.

3rd.

Prize: to the center: 300 €.

For the team: 3 Wii.

4 th Prize: 3 bikes (Roma mod. M7001)

5 th Prize: 3 photographic equipment.

6 th Prize: 3 MP4.

For the celebration of the XXI edition of the competition, the city has enjoyed the cooperation of the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment and the Directorate General of Traffic, and the following companies and organizations: Murtrafic, Honda-Rieju, Motomura, Párraga Appliances, Leo Photographic Laboratory, Teaching Material Azarbe, Novograf Graphic Arts Cajamar Marvimundo Perfume, Mabelia and Decathlon.
