Además, una de las líneas de trabajo incluidas en dicho hermanamiento se centra en compartir buenas prácticas para la implementación de la Agenda Urbana de ambas ciudades.-El 26 de febrero de 2020, Murcia entró formalmente como miembro del ‘Urban Agenda for the EU Partnership on Culture and Cultural Heritage’.Proceso abierto y participativoLa Agenda Urbana 2030, además, incluye las prioridades de los ciudadanos, quienes pueden participar en su diseño a través del proceso de consulta, en la página web del Ayuntamiento y en las redes sociales (Twitter: @Murcia2030), donde se informa sobre los mecanismos para poder participar.Contexto de la Agenda Urbana Española 2030, un instrumento al servicio de las Administraciones PúblicasCabe recordar que en septiembre de 2015, más de 150 jefes de Estado y de Gobierno se reunieron en la Cumbre del Desarrollo Sostenible y aprobaron la Agenda 2030.

Esta Agenda contiene 17 objetivos de aplicación universal que buscan lograr un mundo sostenible en el año 2030.En cumplimiento de dichos compromisos, el Ministerio de Transportes, Movilidad y Agenda Urbana ha elaborado la Agenda Urbana Española 2030, un documento de carácter estratégico que busca orientar el sentido de las políticas urbanas sostenibles con objetivos sociales, ambientales y económicos.Desde este punto de vista pretende ser un instrumento al servicio de todas la Administraciones Públicas, en el ámbito de sus respectivas competencias y principalmente de los Ayuntamientos, para propiciar mejoras en los ámbitos de la normativa y la planificación, la financiación, la gobernanza, el conocimiento, la transparencia y la participación.
