Young people will star in a blood donation marathon organized by the City Council and the Local Youth Council (23/11/2020)

| The three youth spaces of the municipality will host this solidarity initiative on November 25 and December 1 and 2 | The collaboration between the Local Youth Council, the Murcia City Council and the Regional Hemodonation Center will allow the organization of the first blood donation marathon, under the name 'Being in solidarity is carried in the blood', aimed at the youth of the municipality, who may also, at the same time, become marrow donors.The presentation of this campaign was attended by the Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Youth, Rebeca Pérez, the Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, the president of the Local Youth Council, Jesús Alcolea, and Tońi Gómez, coordinator of the Regional Center of Hemodonation.The mobile teams of the Regional Hemodonation Center will collect blood and provide information to those who wish to become marrow donors next Wednesday, November 25, at the 585m2 Youth Space, on Tuesday, December 1 at the La Nave Youth Space and Wednesday, December 2, at the youth space El Palmar, always from 5 to 9 p.m.It is advisable to make an appointment in advance by calling 968 341 990, by WhatsApp at 650 452 788, or by email at chr@carm.es.The Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Youth, Rebeca Pérez, has encouraged "our young people to once again demonstrate their generosity with a small gesture that is of the utmost importance for society, such as the donation of Blood.For his part, the Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, has indicated that "acts like these of generosity represent us Murcians, so I invite our young people to participate in this marathon, a day of solidarity and much needed, with the one that we will certainly help many people ""The campaign 'Being in solidarity is in the blood' is a show of solidarity on the part of young Murcian people, as we feel committed to our municipality and region and we want to demonstrate it.

With this campaign the local youth council of Murcia carries out a call to all the young people of the municipality who are in favorable conditions to be able to donate blood to go to the youth spaces to join this campaign, "said Jesús Alcolea, president of the Local Youth Council.From the Regional Hemodonation Center they remember that donation is a simple and risk-free process and that it is carried out in a safe environment and with all safety and hygiene measures.

Therefore, it encourages all young people in the municipality of Murcia to donate blood and to collaborate with the campaign 'Being in solidarity is carried in the blood' since all groups are necessary: ??A + and 0+, as they are the most common in the population , and A- and O - for being the scarcest.To be a donor, you only need to be between 18 and 65 years old, not suffer from any disease and weigh more than 50 kilos.In addition, the following must be taken into account:- If you have had more than 37'5 of temperature in the last 15 days, do not go.- If you have had flu symptoms, unusual dry cough, shortness of breath, do not go.- If you are in continuous care or contact with sick or possible COVID-19 patients, do not go.- Remember that donating blood is a safe act, as well as the environment where it is carried out.- If you have traveled outside the Region of Murcia, check with the Hemodonation Center before going to donate.- Hygienic and safety measures will be provided such as hand washing, hydroalcoholic solution in each step of the donation, gloves if requested and single-use paper on the stretchers.
