The City Council improves visibility in the accesses to the districts with the installation of new low-consumption and emission luminaires (05/07/2020)

| These works are framed within the Smart City strategy in the area of ??Energy Efficiency, within the actions of the Service of Maintenance of Public Lighting to modernize existing luminaires | The City Council, through the Department of Urban Development and Administration Modernization, headed by José Guillén, continues with the work of modernizing public lighting in different streets and districts of the municipality, within the Murcia Smart City strategy.Thus, this week the luminaires have been renewed by others with low consumption on the Cabecico el Rey road, on the section from the A-30 to Valladolises to the cemetery road, in the Los Maestres neighborhood or Unamuno street, on the Los road.

Likewise, the installation of the new light points in the different places of the municipality has meant a reduction of 364 kilos of CO2 into the atmosphere and an economic saving of 102,824 euros.The actions have been carried out on the Alcantarilla, Patiño, Sangonera la Seca and Murcia roads, among which those on Calle Muralla and Pintor Sobejano, Avenida de Los Pinos, Avenida Marina Española, Avenida de La Fama and Avenida Juan Carlos I, among others. More than 4,000 new points of light in the last year The Department of Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration has renewed in the last year more than 4,000 points of light distributed in about 200 locations in Murcia and districts.Specifically, it is 1,878 luminaires and 2,279 lamps with which it has been possible to reduce the emission of 751,257 Kg of CO2 into the atmosphere and save 212,477 euros."In this way, the Murcia City Council assumes its commitment to curb climate change, as this technology reduces consumption and the emission of carbon dioxide, along with other measures, such as the Foresta Plan or the Clean Air Strategy", José Guillén has highlighted
