The Councilor for Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, José Guillén, has visited the Infante neighborhood, together with the president of the Municipal Board, Antonio Ruiz, to carry out various proposals to improve its green areas.

It is an initiative carried out by the Parks and Gardens service to revegete and re-green some of the main roads in order to reduce the municipality's carbon footprint, have a cleaner and less polluted air and thus improve the quality of life of Murcia, in addition to adorning and embellishing the image of the neighborhood.

In this way, this plan will act in various green areas of the neighborhood, as well as medium-sized ones, with the replacement of new tree and jasmine species that will serve to supply these spaces with vegetation.

In this sense, other areas of the area will be improved with the planting of new trees, within the Forest Plan, for example in the alcorques of Avenida Almela Costa.

“From the session we are constantly working on the improvement of our green areas and the maintenance of our municipal infrastructures with the aim of offering the best services to citizens and improving their quality of life,†says José Guillén.

Another of the proposals is that the garden next to the Mediamarkt roundabout will be equipped with a new biosaludable room area with elements for the practice of physical exercise.

“Likewise, we have studied the installation of a fountain in this garden that will help improve the aesthetics of the environment, but it will also bring water, very present in the history of our city, to this space so traveled by the inhabitants of the neighborhood,†José Guillén stands out.

With respect to children's spaces, the rubber of the play areas will be renewed and the installation of new shading systems will be carried out in the environments that need it.

The renovation of street lighting in various arteries has also been another of the points discussed during the councilman's visit to the Infante neighborhood with the installation of new points of light.

"The priority of these actions is to improve the safety of the neighbors by making these spaces more visible and that of the drivers by making the road much more noticeable, with more light and clarity," says Guillén.
