The University of Murcia closes the Japanese cultural week with the visit of the Japanese ambassador to Spain (21/02/2020)

The University of Murcia has closed this Friday the Japanese culture festival 'Nippon Bunka-Sai', organized in collaboration with the Japanese embassy in Spain, the City of Murcia and the Japanese community of Murcia.

The event has taken place in the plenary hall of the city of Murcia and has been attended, among others by José Luján, rector of the UMU;

Mercedes Bernabé, Councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government;

and Kenji Hiramatsu, Japanese ambassador to Spain.

During the event, the UMU professor Michiko Akaboshi presented a video summary of all the activities carried out during this week and the Haiku contest prizes, which have been awarded to María Luisa Belmonte Almagro, Gustavo Adolfo Garrigós Aniorte and Isaac Ruipérez Cano.

There have also been exhibitions of how to dress Kimono, the art of Japanese saber and Japanese folk dance by the Komchi-Ya group.

After the closing ceremony at the town hall, the University of Murcia has organized an official reception to the Japanese ambassador in the rector's office in which Kenji Hiramatsu has received different gifts and has signed in the UMU Gold Book.
