The website of the City Council will provide data on the level of pollen thanks to an agreement with the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (25/10/2019)

The municipal website will offer data on the level of pollen in the air so that those affected by allergy know the beginning, duration and end of those pollens to which they have an allergy so that they know when to start and end the avoidance and treatment measures with medicines, as recommended by the Ministry of Health.

Thanks to an agreement between the City of Murcia and the UPCT, analyzes of air samples collected in Murcia, with Hirst type sensors, will be carried out by the staff of the UPCT Research, Aerobiology and Environmental Toxicology group identifying and counting the types pollenics present in the atmospheric spray of the municipality.

Polinosis or pollen allergy is a disease that reaches important prevalences, above 15%, being a tendency in the last decades to be increased, especially in urban areas, being able to have a great impact on the quality of life of the affected.

The Association of Allergology and Clinical Immunology of the Region of Murcia also participates in this project, through the Allergy and Immunology Service of the Reina Sofía University Hospital of Murcia and the Official College of Pharmacists of the Region of Murcia.
