The PSOE accuses the government team of a "shameless lack of transparency" (08/10/2019)

The Socialist Municipal Group has verified the difficulty of carrying out the inspection work of the municipal government when all that "we find are obstacles that try to prevent, and do not get, access to information," explains socialist councilor Ainhoa Sánchez, who talks about "a shameless lack of absolutely abnormal transparency in democracy".

"From the PSOE, we believe that censoring, hiding and responding with silence has a clear motivation, and that is that the government team has something to hide, however, the opposition councilors will continue to fulfill our duty and responsibility to supervise the work of our rulers in the City Council, as our functions are regulated, "says the councilor.

As an example of this lack of transparency, "we have almost a hundred internal communications presented by the councilors and councilors of the Socialist Group, of which only a quarter have obtained a response and this in some cases represents only a 'received' or a 'I take note', they don't clarify the information we request. "

"Councilors of the government team such as Rebeca Pérez, Mario Gómez and Jesús Pacheco have accumulated enough of these requests for information, and we believe that Mayor Ballesta should put order."

Ainhoa Sánchez also states that "the website of the City Council continues to be what we already denounced during the last, obsolete mandate, scarce in the explanations when they are there, because there is a lot of documentation that does not appear. Of course, it leaves much to be desired and is not the best showcase neither of the Consistory nor of the municipality of Murcia ".

However, the councilor adds, "to top it all, we have met several times in recent weeks with the prohibition of passage in municipal facilities, specifically in a nursery school and in a swimming pool, which seems to us an imbalance, especially because we are councilors of the City of Murcia, representatives of our neighbors, and not only have the right to check the status of municipal centers but also the obligation to visit them and know their situation. "

In addition, he points out, "it causes us a terrible sadness that the people who impede our passage put us as an excuse before our insistence that they play the place, which is tremendous because it gives us the key to the fear that exists."

For all this, the councilwoman Ainhoa Sánchez announces that "in the Municipal Socialist Group we are considering the possibility of going to court because we cannot allow the lack of information and transparency to be assumed as normal, although we understand that the boycott of PP and Cs, who are the ones who govern at the moment, is based on the little interest they feel for the participation of society when that is basic in democracy.
