The "Parks, Music and Action" program returns in October to the gardens of Murcia with more than 350 free workshops (27/09/2019)

More than 350 outdoor workshops, from Monday to Sunday, make up this initiative that will be held in more than 50 parks and gardens in Murcia.

Dances, crafts, storytelling, music workshops, photography, yoga and mindfulness are some of the activities that complete the program.

"We started autumn with an initiative that fills our green spaces with life and that this time they will try to raise awareness about the care and respect for the environment and values ​​such as sharing and enjoying with the family," says José Guillén.

Murcia gardens are full of life again this October.

The Councilor for Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, José Guillén, and the Councilor for Culture and Heritage Recovery, Jesús Pacheco, presented this morning the third edition of the 'Parks, Music and Action' program, free activities for all ages .

More than 350 outdoor workshops, from Monday to Sunday, make up this initiative that will be held in more than 50 parks and gardens in Murcia.

"We started autumn with an initiative that fills our green spaces with life and that this time they will try to raise awareness about the care and respect for the environment and values ​​such as sharing and enjoying with the family," says José Guillén.

All kinds of dances are offered, such as tango, capoeira, zumba and urban family dances, sevillanas rumba, lindy hop, blues dance, west coast swing, rock & roll and the most traditional Murcia.

Activities with babies, music workshops, storytelling, crafts, photography, yoga, meditation and mindfulness are some of the activities that can be enjoyed in the parks and gardens.

In order to promote respect for the environment, tree and flower planting, pot holders with recycled materials, organic seedbeds and creation of toys with recycled material will also be carried out.

Guided routes through the most emblematic gardens of the city and talks about event organization will not be missing.

In addition, the outdoor children's library, which will encourage children to read, in full contact with nature, trying to give more prominence to books.

To facilitate access for people with disabilities, an easy reading point, pictograms and sign language will be offered.

Other of the star activities of this edition will be the ascent to the campus by bicycle, organized in conjunction with the University of Murcia and the UMUenbici Association, the day of healthy universities.

The 'Milonga de tango' will be held, in collaboration with the Murcia Tango Association, and the event 'La calle salsa', which will collect materials for those affected by the cold drop in Murcia.

The places where the activities will be held are: Glorieta, Santo Domingo (Besabé street), La Seda, La Pólvora, Chinese Garden, Fofó, park in front of the Prince of Asturias Pavilion, Plaza Destistas Murcianos and Garrigués Walker and the Three Cups.

Localities such as Espinardo, Los Rectores, El Ranero, Puente Tocinos, Santiago and Zaraiche, Monteagudo, Churra and Vistabella.

This edition will also have activities and workshops on the River Walk, Montepinar and Joven Futura developments, the district of El Esparrabal, Barriomar, Ronda Sur, El Infante and El Carmen.

"We expanded locations and took workshops and shows, for the first time with this program, to Santo Ángel, El Palmar, El Raal, Casillas, San Ginés, Beniaján, Sangonera La Verde and La Alberca," said Councilman José Guillén.
