Lepanto Street will be more accessible (31/08/2019)

The pedestrianization works of Alfonso X Avenue face its final phase.

The works continue at a good pace and are currently in the remodeling of one of the cross streets to the Avenue, specifically in Lepanto Street.

“An integral remodeling is being carried out that will make this street much more accessible.

The work includes the paving of the road, as well as paving of autumn and grainy gray sidewalks â€, highlights the Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Youth, Rebeca Pérez, who has visited the works to check the status of the works.

The actions also consist of the provision of two scuppers for the collection of water, in the case of rainy episodes, and the installation of underground containers, “which will cause less odors, the discharge will be quieter and there will be a greater volume for waste storage â€.

At this time, the construction of the sidewalk on the south side of the street has been completed and it will be next week when the opposite side is approached and the excavation for the burial of the containers begins.

Also highlight the new pipelines for street lighting, traffic lights and telecommunications for interconnection between Alfonso X and Constitution Avenue.

“We must remember that pedestrianization of healthy axes in urban environments is one of the measures included in the municipal strategy 'Clean Air'.

We reduce traffic and make the city much more accessible for pedestrians, â€concludes Rebeca Pérez.
