The Government Board has approved this morning the remodeling project of this park of more than 430,000 euros to value this garden area of ​​the center of Murcia.

New furniture, access and flooring, modern children's games, and the creation of a picnic area will make Murcians feel proud of one of the most important palm groves in the municipality.

The Governing Board has approved this morning the project and specifications for the contracting, through open procedure, of the works related to the remodeling of the palm grove of La Paz with a maximum price of 433,623.68 euros, with a term of 5 months to count from the date of formalization of the staking verification act.

The Parks and Gardens Service, directed by the Councilor for Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, José Guillén, has developed a project for the remodeling of the Palmeral Garden of Peace, located at the entrance to the Avda neighborhood. First of May, with a large number of specimens of palms and nestled in a location of relevance within the municipality.

This remodeling involves the complete renovation of the garden, making it more accessible, solving problems caused by its age such as the renovation of pavements, accesses, etc.

Among the work to be done, the differences in dimensions are resolved, generating a large square, pergolas will be eliminated creating a new one to give a better shadow to the enclosure.

The complete paving includes the replacement of the entire beadwork and the garden will be delimited with a new concrete wall seen and metal cylinders.

In addition, all street furniture will be replaced, including benches, litter bins and a picnic area with vandal-proof furniture will be created.

Also, there is a playground for children for all ages, with rope games and integrators.

In order for this garden to continue to be considered one of the most important palm groves in the city, a plantation of date and Canary palm trees is carried out, which complete the existing ones, as well as the reseeding of grasslands.
