Historic Teresa Portela.
The canoeist at UCAM Murcia has won the bronze medal in the World Championship held in Szeged (Hungary).
The final of K1 200 meters was clearly dominated by New Zealand's Lisa Carrington, who started off as the big favorite.
A few meters behind was the fight for the rest of the medals and the Olympic places and the Galician paddler competed.
The silver went to the Polish Marta Walczkiewicz and in the bronze there was a tie with 41.34 between the Danish Emma Jorgensen and Teresa Portela herself.
With this medal, Portela already has 15 metals in world canoeing championships and gets the Olympic place for Spain in the K1 200 meters test.
If confirmed, as it seems logical, that this place is for her, Portela will be the first Spanish woman to participate in six Olympic Games next summer in Tokyo.
