The City Council finalizes the new roof of the Javalí Viejo-La Ñora pavilion and starts the conditioning of the soccer field (22/08/2019)

Inaugurated in 1998, this week the works on the roof of the pavilion of this sports environment that has a paddle tennis court and a soccer field in which the conditioning work began yesterday began.

The municipality has a total of 423 covered and outdoor spaces for sports.

This summer, the City Council is also repairing the roofs of ten other municipal pavilions in Aljucer, Santo Ángel, San Ginés, La Albatalía, San José de La Vega, Zarandona, La Alberca, Puente Tocinos, Javalí Nuevo and the Barrio del Carmen.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, visited today the sports hall of Javalí Viejo-La Ñora, where this week he has completed the repair of his roof on an area of ​​75 square meters, with an investment close to 14,000 euros, and yesterday they gave I begin the work of conditioning the attached football field.

The mayor stressed that “the neighbors of Javalí Viejo and La Ñora will have a high-quality pavilion that will open its doors in September, with a capacity for more than 200 spectators, as well as a soccer field and paddle tennis court in optimal conditions at the turn of the summer â€, and recalled that“ Murcia is one of the Spanish capitals with the highest number of sports facilities per inhabitant, we have a total of 423 covered and outdoor spaces throughout the municipality, and with an offer which exceeds 42,500 seats. â€

"We took advantage of the summer period to undertake the larger works, in order not to interfere with the activity of sports schools and schoolchildren," said the mayor, who reported that "this summer, we are also repairing the roofs of another ten municipal pavilions in Aljucer, Santo Ángel, San Ginés, La Albatalía, San José de La Vega, Zarandona, La Alberca, Puente Tocinos, Javalí Nuevo and the Carmen neighborhood â€.

A commitment to renewable energy

Inaugurated in 1998, in the Javalí Viejo-La Ñora Pavilion, located on the Cemetery Road, the old roof plates have been renewed with new polycarbonate plates, material that presents a great resistance to atmospheric agents and protects from ultraviolet rays to athletes and spectators who are in the sports center.

The new plates also allow you to take advantage of sunlight, saving electricity.

The stones that, due to vandalism, were on the deck have also been removed;

surface that was damaged due to the sun's rays, resulting in leaks being generated.

Likewise, painting performances have been carried out and fourth fans that work with solar energy have been placed.

More than 1,200m2 of sports flooring

The pavilion has fixed concrete bleachers, which can be used by more than 200 spectators, in addition the facilities have changing rooms and play area.

Specifically, the sports floor is 1,215 square meters (1,035 m2 without including the fixed harrow).

In a regulated manner, you can practice basketball, futsal, handball and volleyball sports.

Repair of another ten municipal pavilions

This summer, the City Council is also repairing the roofs of the Aljucer, Santo Ángel, San Ginés, La Albatalía, San José de La Vega, Zarandona, La Alberca, Puente Tocinos, Javalí Nuevo and Barrio del Carmen pavilions.

Improvements in the football field and changing rooms

Yesterday, work began on conditioning on the football field, which included the repair of artificial turf pavement and replacement of penalty points, corners, raised areas and deteriorated by use.

Two crystals of the entrance door of the changing rooms of the soccer field broken by vandalism will be replaced, the faucets will be fixed and the water installations (sprinklers) will be prepared, so that at the beginning of September the field will be in optimal conditions of use.

Masonry work will also be done.
