The City Council sets up its 47 canine recreation areas (21/08/2019)

Murcia is the municipality of Spain with the largest network of these spaces for pets.

The session makes a thorough review of these areas in view of the arrival of September with various maintenance and repair work.

"The City Council is still betting on these points of canine recreation, because the care of our pets is essential. These places, which promote the exercise of animals and the socialization of the owners, must be in perfect condition and with adequate hygienic measures" , highlights José Guillén.

The City of Murcia is conducting an in-depth review of the network of 47 canine recreation areas, scattered throughout the districts and districts of the municipality, facing the arrival of September, taking advantage of the summer, the time of least activity in the city.

The Councilor for Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, José Guillén, visited this morning the area located in the Centrofama Garden, known as the Park of the Dogs, to check the work that is being carried out, such as the works of Masonry, furniture maintenance and care of green areas.

This set-up also includes the maintenance of the locksmith, painting and review of the fences, a more thorough disinfection, due to the high temperatures of this time, the verification of the state of games for pets, plumbing, as well as the revision of irrigation sources and systems.

Murcia is the municipality of Spain with the largest network of these spaces for pets.

"In total, there are 47 areas spread across the different districts and districts that, with these tasks, we are going to develop these spaces," explains the councilor.

Weekly cleaning

In addition to these works, the City Council carries out periodic maintenance throughout the year, about five times a week, which consists of authorized disinfection, collection of excrement and plugging holes, if necessary.

Other actions are also carried out, such as the emptying of litter bins, the bags for collecting droppings are replenished, the banks are checked, as well as refaldeo work to avoid discomfort to the owners of the animals.
