The Councilor for Social and Family Rights, Pilar Torres, has visited this summer the Summer School of Santiago and Zaraiche that develops the volunteer group of the district.
In this XXVI edition of the Summer School, which will run until the next day 14, 60 children under the age of 5 to 13 years and 10 volunteers participate.

The volunteer group of Santiago and Zaraiche, has been developing volunteer activities with the child population of this district since 1993 "with a solidary and altruistic commitment for their community and in close relationship and coordination with municipal social services, during all year leisure and free time activities with minors, some of which are derived from Social Services, "said the councilor.
In this way they work "in a selfless way against social exclusion and for the full integration of children, establishing close coordination between volunteers and professionals of the Municipal Social Services Service. To recognize this work, the City Council distinguished this group from the past. December in International Volunteer Day ".
This Summer School joins those programmed by the Department of Social and Family Rights aimed primarily at minors who are in a situation of social exclusion and vulnerability.
The total of summer schools that have been developed this summer amounts to 98 and in them a total of 3,159 children have participated.
Of the total, 56 are managed directly by the City Council and 42 are part of the Caixa Proinfancia program.
