The Councilor of the Municipal Socialist Group, Carmen Fructuoso, has attended the Special Accounts Commission today and has declared at its conclusion that "the Popular Party has failed to implement the 2018 budget, something that can be extended to previous years, and that have been dragging € 112 million for budgetary breaches in investments. "
"The Popular Party cannot boast of a surplus when it does not execute a budget that has been dragging unfulfilled budget promises since 2009," says the councilwoman, "for example in last year 2018, almost € 3M was budgeted in new gardens in districts, the reform of supply places, for € 425,000 or the rehabilitation of cultural centers and auditoriums worth € 250,000, all these projects have not been executed. "
"It is significant that the Popular Party makes an excuse that the 2018 budgets have been approved late, we have to remind the PP that the responsibility for approval and budget execution is the responsibility of the government team," says Carmen Fructuoso.
"The excuse for the late approval of the budget is no excuse, when there are examples of budget promises to endow the districts that carry since 2014 as a piece of furniture for libraries amounting to € 100,000, replacement of furniture for the Centers of the Woman for € 25,000 since 2015, and a game for rehabilitation of Barrios planned in the 2017 budget for a value of € 400,000 that have not been executed, to give some examples "recalls Carmen Fructuoso.
"The neighbors of the neighborhoods and districts need the infrastructure that the PP has been promising for years and years, and not that the City Council has a surplus," concludes the councilor.
