The San Roque Infant School stays in Algezares (31/07/2019)

The municipal plenary session approved this morning with the votes in favor of the Popular Municipal Group and Citizens an alternative motion on the San Roque de Algezares Infant School.

The text proposes a temporary and temporary solution that ensures the provision of the service complying with the 2019-2020 school calendar in a space that must guarantee the learning, safety and well-being of children, and comply with current legislation, essential for have the relevant authorization from the Ministry of Education.

"From the moment that the damage was detected in the school we are acting with the utmost diligence looking for solutions for the long and short term and maximum transparency, in continuous contact with the families and professionals of the center," said the councilor of Education and Infantile Schools, Belén López Cabronero, during his speech in today's plenary.

The mayor insists that "the nursery school of San Roque stays in Algezares".

"From the zero minute and with the utmost diligence and transparency, we are working in collaboration with the families and professionals of the center looking for solutions," he says.

The first of these, in the long term, is the integral repair and adaptation of the building.

The mayor recalled during the plenary session that the Department has already included in the draft 2019 budgets of the City of Murcia a game of 684,188 euros.

"The financing is pending approval for what we hope the Socialist Party will support so that this can be a reality," says Belén López.

The closest and short-term solution proposed by the Department, as has been said weeks ago, is the empowerment and conditioning of the El Lugarico school in El Palmar, "being the most viable option to meet the start of the course , on September 9, with the corresponding authorization of the Ministry of Education, essential for the start-up of a Nursery School ".

In the same way, the councilwoman has committed herself to the immediate call with the families and professionals of the school together with the rest of the political parties to find among all the solution that best suits the reconciliation needs of the families of Algezares and others localities
