The municipal Plenary definitively approves the municipal ordinance of hydrants and dry column that will expedite the work of the Firefighters (31/07/2019)

The municipal Plenary has approved, with the votes in favor of the Popular Municipal Group, Socialist Municipal Group, Citizens and Vox, and the abstention of Podemos-Equo, the municipal hydrant and dry column ordinance that regulates the mandatory control mechanisms to ensure that the Fire and Rescue Service can handle emergencies through these facilities.

On the one hand, it is intended the signaling of hydrants such as dry column, in order to allow a quick and easy location by fire vehicles in their interventions.

And, on the other, it is necessary to have documentary knowledge that the dry column facilities are maintained according to norm, thus providing the absolute guarantee of being available for use in case of an emergency by the fire services.

With the Municipal Ordinance on Hydrants and Dry Column, the Fire and Rescue Service has proposed to comply with the safety precepts referred to in the Fire Protection Installations Regulations, adapt and update existing facilities, and regulate as New facilities must do so from the date.

Hydrants are elements that are located on public roads, either on the surface or buried, that are permanently connected to the water network and that constitute the main source of supply for refueling fire trucks in their interventions.

The dry column, arranged in certain singular or high-rise buildings, is an empty vertical water pipe, which starts from a closet located on the main facade of the building and serves as a connection so that, in case of emergency, the Fire trucks and provide water to the aforementioned facility.
