The eight study rooms open 24 hours will have recycling points (29/07/2019)

The Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Youth, Rebeca Pérez, and the Councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, have visited this morning the study room of Ronda Sur where a recycling point has been launched.

The City of Murcia, together with the concessionaire of the municipal building cleaning service, Actúa Servicios y Medioambiente, has installed in the seven study rooms open 24 hours a container of light containers and a container of paper and cardboard.

Thus, the facilities of Torreagüera, Sangonera la Seca, Casillas, Los Dolores, Alquerías, Rincón de Seca, Sangonera la Verde and Ronda Sur have this new service.

Mercedes Bernabé explained that "the objective is to encourage and encourage students to recycle paper-cardboard and light packaging, due to the considerable environmental benefits in terms of saving raw materials, energy, water and reducing gas emissions of greenhouse effect, in line with environmental policies ".

For his part, Rebeca Pérez has indicated that "continuous improvement and commitment to the environment is a hallmark of the cleaning service of buildings and municipal offices of the City of Murcia, since this contract began in October 2017. This This action is linked to those already carried out in the municipal buildings with the largest influx of public and personnel such as the Glorieta, the annex building to the town hall, Abenarabi, or the Plaza de Europa building, and ecological products and less polluting vehicles such as propelled by gas or electricity. "

This initiative has been implemented as a pilot experience in the seven study rooms that are open 24 hours but will be extended to the other five that are in Cultural Centers and have a specific schedule, such as Cobatillas, Los Martínez del Puerto, Rincon de Seca, Monteagudo and Santo Ángel.

There are currently more than 8,000 registered users studying in these spaces that offer almost 700 positions.

It is also planned to open another 8 new rooms in Aljucer, El Raal, Garres and Lages, Llano de Brujas, Espinardo, San José de la Vega, Zeneta and Casillas.
