"This demonstrates that it is improving the attention to Murcia offering a set of aid and professional actions, as well as specific ones to respond to certain situations of social need, in order to offer social services focused on people who promote the personal autonomy and social participation, "said the councilor.

Pilar Torres explained that "the average waiting time between the request and the care is 16 calendar days, a fact whose reduction is considered as a priority objective for the coming months".

As more immediate objectives in the improvement of primary care, "the Department considers the progressive reduction of the average waiting time, and the progressive implementation of the figure of the reference professional, which will allow, in the first place, the greater capacity of the professionals for the management of the files that have to process and for the accomplishment of other tasks of intervention and follow-up of cases ", the councilor has pointed out.

"In this way, the processing periods of the different resources and social benefits will be reduced and, secondly, a systematic work process with the family units receiving economic benefits subject to revision, such as basic income, a process that concerns almost 2,000 family units in the municipality with which an individualized project of intervention and more intense monitoring will be established as the families are in a situation of greater precariousness, "explains Pilar Torres.

According to a survey conducted last year, a total of 1,540 users of the previous appointment system rated with a 4.43 out of 5 the ease with which they could access it, stating 79.41% that they found "very simple" and of a 4.53 out of 5 the quality of the care received, valuing it as very positive 78.5% of respondents.
