The Government Government Council of the University of Murcia held this Wednesday has approved the regulatory bases and the call for Knowledge Transfer Awards, through which it is desired to recognize and value those researchers who excel in the development of projects and knowledge transfer actions in collaboration with companies with social and economic impact, contributing to the consolidation of the transfer as a third university function.
The prizes, which do not have an economic amount since it is about recognition, several modalities have been established:
Modality 1. Five awards to the research staff of the University of Murcia that has stood out in its Knowledge Area leading knowledge transfer activities and research results.
Modality 2. Three awards to the research staff of the University of Murcia that has stood out leading international knowledge transfer activities and research results.
Modality 3. Three awards to the research staff of the University of Murcia who have led a strategic transfer project with great social and economic impact.
The prizes will consist of the public recognition granted by the University of Murcia through an official certification that will be delivered by the Rector and the Vice Chancellor for Research and Transfer of the University of Murcia in an institutional event organized for this purpose.
The Knowledge Areas to consider in the modality are the following:
1.Sciences.
2.Engineering.
3. Health Sciences.
4. Art and Humanities.
5. Social and Legal Sciences
In addition, the Governing Council of the University has approved the adaptation of the academic calendar of the faculties of Law, Chemistry and Philosophy and some modifications of the CRAU credit recognition regulations, related to the realization of university activities.
On the other hand, the governing body of the University has approved two new chairs;
one with the FREMM and one with Villafarma Química Médica, as well as 745 educational cooperation agreements signed with companies and institutions during the third quarter of the 2018/2019 academic year for the realization of university students.
During the Council it has also been reported that the remuneration of the University of Murcia to employees and public officials has been further increased by 0.25 percent.
This is an effective ascent from July 1 as a result of an agreement between the unions and the central government.
