They review and hydrate Floridablanca ficus due to high temperatures (23/07/2019)

Technicians from the City Council of Murcia and the STV Gestión concessionary company have carried out revision and hydration work on Floridablanca ficus due to the high temperatures of these weeks.

The City Council has an action protocol focused on the resolution of incidents of different types that can directly affect the parks and gardens of the municipality

"Always based on an official source such as the Spanish Meteorological Agency we know precisely when it is necessary to carry out the closure of a green area by a heat wave, by inclement weather such as wind or by heavy rains," explains the mayor of Development Urban and Modernization of the Administration, José Guillén.

The objective of this protocol is to prioritize the safety of people who walk near green areas with different trees.

From the Murcian Consistory it is recalled that whenever this protocol is activated, posters are placed that allow the citizen to know instantly the reason why this space has been closed.

Also, during the moments of alert for high temperatures, the Parks and Gardens services establish a coordination and a special device so that it can act efficiently and quickly in case the weather makes it necessary.

Once the weather alert is finished, a detailed review of different specimens is carried out to ensure that the heat has not affected its structure or its branches.

The City Council continues to work on the improvement of the green areas of the entire municipality of Murcia in close collaboration with both the STV Gestión concessionaire and with the State security forces and bodies.
