The PSOE criticizes that the PP has not addressed the lack of staff of Local Police and solve the problem by privatizing the service (14/07/2019)

He also recalls that "the PSOE has been warning for years that early retirement would lead to a lack of important staff, but it has been preaching in the desert"

The Municipal Socialist Group regrets that the Local Police is currently going through a delicate moment.

The early retirement and the lack of call for competitions have resulted in a severe shortage of staff.

Given these facts, the socialist councilor who occupies the areas of citizen security, Teresa Franco Martinez, wanted to express their disagreement about the management of the government team: "The team of Ballesta continues to live in a parallel reality because it is committed in dealing with what is not urgent, and from the PSOE we consider that it is of extreme necessity, very high priority, to have a sufficient staff and in accordance with the idiosyncrasies of the municipality ".

"The situation denounced by the Local Police is very serious, the PSOE has been claiming for years that no vacancies were filled, that early retirement would result in fewer agents, who can not reconcile, that has not been invested in personnel ... And the Party Popular has not been concerned about the important years and now the important thing is urgent, they have not heard a single one of the demands, it has been preaching in the desert ", adds the socialist mayor.

On the other hand, the decision to replace the local police for private security "seems to us an outrageous thing, it is unacceptable that private security is used to attend a service that has always been carried out by the Local Police, and all because the government team has not had the ability and responsibility to plan thinking about the safety of Murcia "protests Councilor Franco.

Also explains that the powers of the Local Police can not cover agents of second activity or without weapons and warns that the only real solution to this problem is to call oppositions.

"They lack agents and that is only solved with oppositions, the Government has to give priority to security and stop draining the package," he concludes.

The Municipal Socialist Group has already set to work to continue working on this problem.

Teresa Franco warns that she has scheduled meetings with unions for next week, "we will study in detail the current conditions of the staff and make an analysis as realistic as possible to solve as much as possible the security problems that are harming to the residents of Murcia ".

"The PP has to stop looking the other way and take action on the matter now, without further delay and without looking the other way, because the problems have the peculiarity that if they are not put solution they grow" adds Franco.
