The councilman of Sustainable Development and Huerta, Antonio Navarro, and the councilman of Pedanías and Barrios, Marco Antonio Fernandez, have signed this morning the acts of occupation of the Castillejo that, added to the already signed of the Pool of Larache, suppose the culmination of the acquisition of these lands by the City Council.
It must be remembered that the Plenary last February approved definitively the procedure for obtaining the Castillejo and the Larache Pool, better known as "El Hondón", the only construction of the privately owned complex, since the Monteagudo Castle belongs to the State and that of Larache to the Autonomous Community.
This file affects a field consisting of 10 plots totaling 34,532 square meters and the budget allocated by the City Council for its acquisition amounts to 1,311,293 euros.
It is a necessary step in the project of recovery of the archaeological and monumental park of Monteagudo, 'The Fortresses of the King Lobo', the most important of medieval Islam, which includes sites, forts and orchard.
With this achievement, the acquisition by public administrations of all the strengths of the Monteagudo complex is completed, which will allow the value of the existing complex to be valued due to its archaeological, cultural, patrimonial and tourist relevance, making one of the great recovery projects a reality. of the heritage.
Thus, tomorrow, Friday, Mayor José Ballesta will hold a meeting with the multidisciplinary team of the company that has been awarded the Project and Construction Management of the Restoration of Monteagudo Castle (Phase 1), a national tender tendered by the Ministry of Culture and Sport.
