The 2019 begins in La Glorieta (28/12/2018)

There will be free grapes and cotillion in a party that will feature Carlos Areces and Aníbal Gómez, who promise to make us dance and laugh in equal parts. Kika Frutos and Luis Alcázar will broadcast the 12 chimes for the entire Region of Murcia, through La 7RM.

It will be the first New Year's Eve of the 21st century in which Murcia will be able to eat the grapes from La Glorieta, after the recovery of the historic clock that this Monday, at midnight, will announce the beginning of 2019 with a 10 second preparatory peal, the quarters and , finally, the 12 chimes.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with members of the Government team, and presenters Kika Frutos and Luis Alcázar, have presented this party to which all Murcians who wish to participate are invited, either from the door of the Town Hall or from their homes, through the live broadcast that the autonomic 7RM television will offer, starting at 11:45 p.m.

For all those who come to La Glorieta there will be free grapes donated by the Murcian companies El Ciruelo and Primafrío, and cotillion provided by the company Tradition in Bells and Clocks and the Promotora Eventos Group.

The surprise of the night will come from the hand of Carlos Areces and Aníbal Gómez, who promise to make us dance and laugh in equal parts with an innovative and fun show.

The duo of artists, known for their appearances in 'La Hora Chanante' and 'Muchachada Nui' will play music in La Glorieta until 00.30, where attendees will receive a free cotillion.

From that time, the party will move to the Plaza de Santo Domingo, where will take place, until three in the morning, a show with two great murcian orchestras: 'La Vendetta Projet' and 'Mission G', which will join in a great ending.

"There will also be an aerial dance show," said Council Member Jesús Pacheco.

The history of a clock

The clock bell of the Town Hall has its origin in 1940. With a weight of 80 kilos, in 2006 the hammers that hit the bell stopped being used, after the installation of a digital musical carillon.

Throughout this month of December, the watchmaker José Antonio Sánchez, from the Murcian company Tradition in Clocks and Bells has recovered the old hammers, replacing the springs and improving their sound.

With the recovery of the bells in La Glorieta, the clock of the City will re-dial, daily, the rooms and time at 12 noon.

New Year's Eve with Teresa Rabal on the Tree

On the 31st, at 12 noon, in the great Christmas Tree there will be a children's show with Teresa Rabal in which 12 treats will be distributed to the little ones, so that they celebrate their own end of the year.
