Now Murcia asks the City Council to inform and arrange the OMIC so that residents affected by indiscriminate power cuts in La Paz can be compensated (26/12/2018)

- "The problem has affected the health of many residents of the neighborhood, and there are electrical appliances and appliances that have broken down due to the connections and continuous disconnections of light."

- "These cuts were made indiscriminately and have affected families with minors, elderly people, sick people who had all their receipts paid."

- "That in the XXI century, a bad practice in the service of energy supply is affecting the health of residents of Murcia, while the city squanders public money in filling the city center with Christmas lights and continuous light shows, we it seems nonsense and it embarrasses us. "

Throughout this year, residents of the neighborhood of La Paz have suffered power cuts indiscriminately.

These power outages have not been due to defaults, but have been due to problems in the supply by Iberdrola.

After a year of complaints from neighbors, now the municipal government has sat down with directors of Iberdrola, and it has been a few days since the supply cuts have been stopped.

The councilman of Now Murcia Miguel Angel Alzamora affirms that "we are not glad that finally the people in charge of the town hall have sat down with Iberdrola to stop the power outages, that after the meeting has been temporarily finished with the power cuts, it confirms that this action could have been done before, and thus not have systematically violated the right to this basic service that has affected families with minors, elderly people, sick people who had all their receipts paid. The damage and suffering that has been caused is unheard of, when it could have been avoided much earlier, not now and announced in an electoral way. "

During the month of December many families from La Paz were transmitting their complaints back to the town hall, complaints that they could not stand this situation since they could not heat their homes, that those who had electric stoves could not cook or that many sick people could not They could use the electric appliances for oxygen supply.

Alzamora recalls that "the problem has affected the health of many residents of the neighborhood, and there are electrical appliances and appliances that have broken down due to the continuous connections and disconnections of light, in many cases they have had to throw away food that they had freezers and many days without electricity they could not even cook and they have spent dark nights.Among the neighbors most affected there are many elderly and sick people who have felt very helpless because Iberdrola ignored their claims ".

From Now Murcia we demand that everything possible be done so that the affected neighbors are compensated for all the damages caused.

Thus, says Alzamora that "we ask the city council to inform neighbors about what they should do and that the Municipal Office of Consumer Information (OMIC) have so that the relevant demands and claims can be made in this service. for the damages and losses caused to the residents of La Paz by those continuous and unjustified power outages, that in the XXI century, a bad practice in the energy supply service is affecting the health of residents of Murcia, while the municipality It squanders public money on filling the center of the city with Christmas lights and continuous light shows, it seems a nonsense and shames us.
