The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Traffic, Security and Citizen Protection, Lola Sánchez, visited this morning the Firemen, Civil Protection volunteers and Local Police officers who are working on the occasion of the Special Security Device Christmas Eve and Christmas 2018, to thank you for your service during the Christmas holidays.
"They make it possible for all Murcians to enjoy peace, security and freedom on these holidays," said José Ballesta, who thanked the Firemen of the Infante Park for their work, who are available 24 hours a day to attend any service that occur, to Civil Protection volunteers, who provide service in the Santa Claus Parade and in the set of events and festive events, as well as local police officers, who patrol the streets and attend any notice through that of the Room of 092.
On the occasion of Christmas Eve, the City Council has established a preventive security device, which mobilizes more than a hundred agents, in two areas of the city center characterized by the massive concentration of people, in order to maintain proper surveillance and avoid vandalism and other uncivil behaviors.
In Plaza de Santa Catalina and Plaza de las Flores, it has been decided to extend the schedule, keeping this device between 11 and 19:30 hours, when in 2016 it was 12 to 16 hours.
A Mobile Citizen Service Office will be installed, which will remain parked on Santa Catalina Street, next to Gran Vía Escultor Salzillo.
On the other hand, in Alfonso X el Sabio avenue and Bartolomé Pérez Casas street, this specific device will start at around 4:00 pm and will end when the area is open to the public, with a Citizen Service Office located in the Plaza Beautiful, next to Gran Vía Alfonso X El Sabio.
