Serrano: "We regret the contempt for our amendments to the Budgets that would have greatly improved the lives of our neighbors" (21/12/2018)

The Socialist candidate for the Mayor of Murcia has warned that socialist proposals, which involved an investment of 16 million euros, intended to recover the Plan of Pedanías, implement an air conditioning program in schools and more day places

The Socialist candidate for the Mayor of Murcia, José Antonio Serrano, regretted that "the PP has rejected the amendments that the PSOE has submitted to the regional budgets for Murcia and that involved investing 16 million euros in various plans and actions that would have improved and much the quality of our neighbors and neighbors alike ".

Therefore, he said that "one more year we lose the opportunity to resolve deficiencies dragged on for years and also to reduce the deficit of 57 million euros from which each new year starts our municipality."

In this sense, and just as he recently announced when talking about the Budgets of the Autonomous Community, Serrano has insisted that "when I am mayor I will fight to recover what Murcia deserve and that for the PP is still not a priority".

Among the amendments, the PSOE proposed "not only update resources and infrastructure to be in line with the needs of our current society, but also recover those investments that have been downgraded to Murcia."

In this regard, has pointed the Plan of Pedanías, for which this first year was claimed 7 million euros.

Likewise, an air conditioning program for schools and high schools was proposed "very peremptory;

because it is absolutely unbearable that our students attend classes with the high temperatures that occur in Murcia, but we also want the City Council and, mainly, the municipal boards, stop taking charge of paying for the air conditioning of the schools because it is competence of the Autonomous Community ".

In addition, in line with this proposal, we have also "asked to renew the electricity systems of educational centers so that both air conditioning and digital whiteboards can be put into operation".

Another of the needs detected in our municipality has to do with the squares of the day centers, so "we included a departure to expand them significantly, either by increasing them in current centers or by building new ones," Serrano explained. who has also highlighted the claim of health centers.

The socialist candidate, who has pointed out that another of the amendments was aimed at increasing the subsidy to LAT to subsidize bus fares, has stated that "having seen all our amendments, it is clear that we did not intend to write a letter to the Magi propose utopian proposals, but realistic and adjusted to the real needs of our municipality, so we are disappointed that none has been incorporated.

Serrano recalled that the total amount of regional budgets for Murcia has finally remained at 63.5 million euros, which means an average of 143 euros per inhabitant, "a very meager amount to be the capital of the region and be the seventh municipality of Spain ".
