The Meeting of Crews and Peñas Huertanas will fill the streets of Murcia with carols and aguilanos on Sunday (19/12/2018)

The parade from the Christmas Tree of the Circular Plaza will end in the Glorieta and then they will move to the surroundings of the Cathedral, where they will sing and dance and there will be tastings of sweets.

The Garden of the Silk will host from December 26 to 29 a large Living Huertano Nativity, also promoted by the Peñas Huertanas Federation, with daily performances.

Next Sunday, the streets of the center of Murcia will be filled with Christmas carols, aguilandos, jotas, malagueñas and parrandas, thanks to the Encuentro de Cuadrillas and Peñas Huertanas that brings together more than ten crews and huertanas from Las Torres de Cotillas, Campo de San Juan, Cehegín, Raiguero de Totana, Beniel, Algezares, Barrio del Progreso, Beniaján and Murcia.

At 11:30 am, from the large Christmas Tree of the Plaza Circular, a parade will depart to visit the exhibition of Alfonso X Crafts, Santo Domingo Square, Trapería, Plaza de la Cruz and Plaza Belluga, ending at the Christmas Market installed in La Glorieta.

There the groups will be received by the municipal authorities, who will give them a souvenir for their participation.

Around 12:30, the groups will move to the surroundings of the Cathedral, where they will sing and dance until 2:00 pm and where there will be tastings of typical Christmas sweets and mistela.

In the afternoon, starting at 4.30 pm, the crews will continue the party at the Penas Huertanas Federation Venue, organizer of the event.

On the other hand, from 26 to 29 December will be installed in the Garden of La Seda, the center of the magnificent Parque de Los Reyes Magos, a large Living Huertano Nativity, also promoted by the Peñas Huertanas Federation and by the Peña Huertana El Carro- Carriage, and where the Birth of Jesus will be born in Plena Huerta de Murcia.

There will be native animals from our Huerta, and there will be no lack of the Ox or the Mule.

The scene will recreate a manger reminiscent of those old stables of the Huerta de Murcia.

The performances will take place every day, starting at 7:00 pm, and there will be performances by "peñas huertanas", starting at 8:00 p.m., with traditional carols and aguilandos.
