Enrique Ayuso presents a motion to the Plenary in which he claims the leadership of the City Council because "the years of abandonment and the siren songs of frustrated projects have turned the recovery of the neighborhood into a challenge for the municipality that can not be at the mercy of more promises nor of utopias "

The Municipal Socialist Group once again presents to the Plenary a motion related to the Polygon of La Paz and its necessary and urgent intervention.

This time, it is about putting in value the study prepared by the professional associations of Architects, Technical Architects and Building Engineers of the Region of Murcia, which has just been announced a few days ago, and which proposes different urban actions, including the demolition of one of the buildings.

In particular, as explained by the socialist councilor Enrique Ayuso, "this technical study, an example of exhaustive and effective work, has determined the situation of each of the blocks of housing by establishing the possibility of different rehabilitation interventions in 48 buildings and only the demolition of one of the whole, estimating a total cost of 37 million euros for community actions, as well as other items for actions in the urban environment (1.6 million euros) and privative within the homes (17, 5 million euros) ".

Also, the mayor is committed to the leadership of the public initiative, ie, the City "to have already become this intervention in this neighborhood, the years of neglect and the siren songs of frustrated projects, in a challenge of significant importance for the municipality that can not be at the mercy of more promises or utopias ".

On the other hand, Ayuso recalls another study, also commissioned by the City Council, "and, of course, sold to hype and plant by the government team, for the social action that many residents of the La Paz neighborhood also need and that has not served, at the moment for nothing, despite being designed actions and quantified in 100,000 euros.

"This mandate has almost been passed without another decision to commission studies that lead us to highlight again and again the need to act, but that, however, for the government team should not be enough because it does not start anything of what they propose, "says the councilman.

For all this, the socialist councilor proposes the Plenary two agreements, one to develop a plan of action for the urban rehabilitation of the Polygon of La Paz consistent with the technical report by the schools of Architects, Technical Architects and Building Engineers of the Region of Murcia and led and promoted by the City of Murcia with budget, terms of action and financing mechanism, and another consisting of immediately launch the social assistance actions planned in the assessment of the social situation in the Polygon of La Paz .
