The Councilor for Social Rights and Development Cooperation, Conchita Ruiz, attended this morning the commemorative act of the International Volunteer Day, which is celebrated next Wednesday.
The Volunteer Group of Santiago and Zaraiche has been recognized for its work for 25 years, developing leisure activities and free time with children from the neighborhood.
This event, held in the auditorium of Moneo, was attended by volunteers who belong to the Department and who collaborate in the different projects and activities that are developed.
These are: volunteers from the social centers for the elderly, from the Children's Area that participate in Summer School activities, PAI project (Children's Rights Program), from the three Murcia North Volunteer Offices, Murcia City and Murcia South (volunteers who participate in various community, educational, cultural, leisure and free time activities that take place in the respective areas, Spanish classes for foreigners, medical accompaniments, company of elderly and sick people, educational reinforcement with minors or development of activities with minors) and Violet Points.
In this event, the video "Volunteer Gen: You Have It" has been screened and a presentation has been made on "Volunteering as a life project and personal development" with Ester Egea Millán, professional coach specialized in emotional intelligence and neurolinguistic programming.
There has also been a presentation on the participation of volunteers in percussion circles.
