The City Council creates a working group to regulate the use of electric scooters and bicycles in the municipality (29/11/2018)

Councilwoman Lola Sanchez calls a meeting on the 10th to the municipal and technical groups in the areas of traffic, transport, police, bicycle office and Alem for the analysis of a document.

The Plenary is in favor of the modification of the current legal framework to offer greater protection and safety to pedestrians and bicycle users due to the negligence of drivers of motor vehicles.

Next Monday December 10 will meet for the first time the working group that will aim to the development and subsequent approval of a document that regulates the use of electric scooters and bicycles in the municipality.

The Councilor for Traffic, Security and Citizen Protection, Lola Sanchez, has convened this commission to the representatives of all municipal groups, in addition to the non-attached councilor, and the technicians of the services competent in mobility, including traffic, transport, police, bicycle office and Local Energy Agency.

On the other hand, and also in relation to the use of bicycles on streets and roads, the Plenary unanimously approved a proposal by Antonio Navarro favorable to the modification of the current legal framework to offer greater protection and safety to bicycle users. , and also to pedestrians, to the negligence of drivers of motor vehicles.

The Plenum thus expresses its support for the #porunaleyjusta initiative promoted by Anna González López since 2015, following the death of her husband who was run over by bicycle.
