The Road Safety Caravan will teach 1,000 schoolchildren to identify risk situations in the public and at home (22/11/2018)

It will be located in La Fica and can be visited until tomorrow from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm (for schools) and from 4 pm to 5 pm (for the rest of the public)

The caravan will travel to 23 other cities in Spain and Portugal, which are expected to involve about 23,000 children

The Councilor for Traffic and Public Safety, Lola Sánchez, visited this morning the Caravan of Road Education of Fundación MAPFRE, where practical classes of road safety are being taught for free.

The Caravan of Education Road, available until tomorrow, is an educational initiative where experts in the field will transmit to children between 8 and 12 years of age the importance of using child seats, buckling their belts, using the bicycle helmet and establishing eye contact with drivers. when crossing the road as pedestrians.

This activity, in which 1,000 schoolchildren will participate, is taking place in La Fica.

Students will learn to be visible on public roads and participate in a workshop where coexistence, tolerance and prudence are promoted, values ​​that undoubtedly contribute to avoiding traffic accidents.

The Prevention Corner, also present in the Road Safety Caravan, will allow schoolchildren to identify risk situations in the home, school and other public spaces and learn why fire occurs and what to do in case of fire.

The Caravan of Road Education of Fundación MAPFRE will be open to the public from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm (for schools) and from 4 pm to 5 pm (for the rest of the public).

The Road Safety Caravan is aligned with the sustainable development goals of the United Nations, specifically, with the 3.6, which proposes halving the number of deaths and injuries caused by traffic accidents in the world before 2020, and with objective 11.2, which aims to facilitate, by 2030, access to safe, affordable, accessible and sustainable transport systems for all citizens, as well as improving road safety.
