In this way "the City of Murcia once again manifests its commitment to equality between women and men and against sexist violence, carrying out a forceful and continuous action of awareness and information to all citizens and prevention and protection before sexist aggressions ", pointed the Councilor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz.

These violet points will be permanently installed in the La Fica exhibition center (at the same time as the amusement fair, starting at 6 pm), and at the entrance to the Malecón (during the opening hours of the Orchards, starting at 7:00 p.m.), to which one will be added during the concert on September 10 in the parking lot of the Nueva Condomina and another in the Sanctuary of La Fuensanta on Tuesday of the Romería.

This campaign has three clearly identifiable objectives: to incorporate the prevention of violence against women in the programs of festivals and festivals held in the municipality of Murcia;

sensitize and inform all citizens about the right of women to decide and the services of attention in situations of sexist violence;

and involve all social agents in the fight against sexist violence.

The Violet Point, which is clearly identifiable by the white tent and violet banner, will be attended by volunteer Civil Protection and Red Cross, who have received specific training by the staff of the Department of Social Rights and Local Police.

Volunteering Violet Point will explain and distribute information printed in a brochure with the image of the campaign on what is sexist violence, signs and indicators for both girls and boys learn to detect micromachismos and behaviors that can lead to sexual assault and what to do in the face of a sexist aggression.

Cards with utility phones will also be distributed to all those who come by the Violet Point, in order that the Murcians have emergency telephones and municipal services for reporting and attention to women in the face of a sexist aggression.

The Violet Points are spaces for information, awareness and prevention of sexist attitudes and behavior against women, as well as spaces for security and accompaniment for victims of sexist or sexual violence.

In this way, the Second Plan for Equal Opportunities between Women and Men 2018-2019 is met, which includes the development of actions to raise awareness of micromachisms, street harassment and leisure free from male chauvinist aggressions, "something absolutely necessary to guarantee higher levels of security. and equality for women in the municipality and in all spaces and moments of community and social life in the city of Murcia ", pointed out Ruiz.

We must remember that some districts of the municipality have adhered to this campaign and since the beginning of the summer, in the framework of their parties, they have distributed the printed material by having volunteers from the Municipal Volunteer Offices of the Department of Social Rights that also They have received the necessary training.
