From the UCAM to Milan with a liter of gasoline (11/07/2018)

The 'Sun Rider 2018', ecological car prototype with which the UCAM has participated in the Shell Eco Marathon, has achieved a mark of 155.28 km per kwh.

which would be equivalent to traveling 1501.35 km with 1 liter of gasoline.

These excellent results, which have allowed him to overcome his mark of the last edition 106.9km per kwh.

They have been possible thanks to the work of the students of the degrees in Telecommunications Systems Engineering and Computer Engineering, together with those of Journalism, Audiovisual Communication, Advertising and Public Relations, Nursing and Physiotherapy, involved in the UCAM Racing Team project.

It is the most important international test in the world in the design of ecological cars and low energy consumption, which this edition has been held in London, and in which the team of the Catholic University of Murcia has competed in the category of prototypes with electric battery.

The most reliable car

The Sun Rider 2018 has been one of the most reliable prototypes of the competition, in which universities and engineering schools from all over Europe have participated.

This is due to the fact that the official technical inspection went to the first one, besides being able to train in the circuit and compete, achieving four attempts of efficiency, with an ascending progression in the results.

All this has allowed him to qualify as the second fastest team in Spain to achieve energy efficiency, and the ninth in Europe, in its category.
