The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, and members of the Municipal Corporation will hold this afternoon a participatory meeting with neighbors of about twenty associations and groups of Cabezo de Torres, hamlet where will open the Master Garden Sebastian Reverte Pastor.
This public space has been completely remodeled during these last four months and today has a skating rink of 1,200 square meters of polished concrete, which will be incorporated into the future 'skate park', trees and green spaces, a new playground adapted children's and anti-graffiti urban furniture.
In addition, the action has involved the creation of new accesses to the garden and the elimination of the architectural barriers that existed previously, as well as the installation of a new irrigation network and a low consumption LED lighting system.
Collective 'skaters' participate in the design of the 'skate park'
It is the first phase of a global project that will also include the creation of a skate park or skate park for the practice of sports such as Skateboard, Roller, BMX and Scooters.
This project, which will be presented this afternoon to the neighbors, is proposed as a landscape intervention for public enjoyment in the space with an area of ​​about 900 m2.
In the design process have been collected proposals raised by the future users of the parish, who were invited to the Multipurpose Municipal Center Cabezo de Torres: collective skaters, associations of BMX and Skaters, 'Acho Bmx' and 'Skateboarding Murcia' .
In the project have participated jointly the City of Murcia, technicians of Parks and Gardens, Municipal Board of Cabezo de Torres, Verbo Studio + Sergi Arenas, with the participation of future users and stakeholders.
The neighbors are involved in the improvement of the district
During his visit, José Ballesta will hold a participatory meeting with a large group of residents and representatives of the associations and collectives of the district, who transferred to the mayor their proposals and ideas for improvement for the town.
