More than 40 companies meet at the Job Day of the UCAM (16/05/2018)

Around four hundred students of the Catholic University have participated in this job fair, in which the HR managers of the companies have analyzed the keys and tools that facilitate the professional development of the students and installed an information booth with job offers.

The Monastery of Los Jerónimos of the Catholic University of Murcia has hosted the fourth edition of the Job Day UCAM, a day that has brought together more than forty companies in its two editions, Cartagena and Murcia, under the motto "Company, Employment and Opportunities".

An initiative organized by the Technological Institute of Murcia (ITM) of the UCAM, with the aim of strengthening ties between the business sector and the University and facilitating entry into the labor market for students and graduates.

The day was opened by the rector of the Catholic University, Josefina García Lozano, who says that "this University puts within reach of its students, in addition to technical training and values, a preparation for insertion in the workplace and this Job Day is the example. "

The Government delegate, Francisco Bernabé, also inaugurated the Job Day, who affirms that "we are in the best moment to vote after the crisis because in two years the State will approve around 50,000 public employment positions" and the director of the Technological Institute of Murcia (ITM), César Nicolás: "We have invited companies from all sectors to inform our students of the most relevant aspects and keys in the recruitment processes, the objective is that the students improve their employability and expand their chances of finding a job. "

Collaborating companies

In this fourth edition have participated more than thirty companies and associations in stands and discussion tables, which has analyzed the public employment offer in the General State Administration, with the directors of the Tax Agency, the ICEX, SEPE or Social Security.

Companies like Randstad, Capgemini, Cajamar, Grupo Caliche and Adecco, Suez Advanced Solutions, Redyser, Francisco Aragón, Global Paris, Embargos a la beastia, Everis, Grupo Generala, UCOMUR, AJE Region of Murcia, ATA, Fundación Once Inserta have also participated. and the Official Association of Economists of the Region, Everis, Plasbel, Zucan, PC Components, Manpower, Leroy Merlin, Deloite, Ikea, Cepaim, Eulen Group, Amador Recreativos, Eurofirms, Global Paris, Francisco Aragón, Suez, the Official School of Economists from the Region of Murcia, Adecco, Grupo Caliche, Cajamar, Capgemini and Randstad.

In addition, the College of Psychologists of the Region of Murcia has placed at the service of the students participating in the Job Day free coaching sessions on employment, which have been very well received by the students.

The Job Day has also offered two workshops on LinkedIn and teamwork and improvement.

The first taught by Javier Gómez, consultant and expert educator in LinkedIn and Social Selling, has shown the students how to get around this professional network, taking advantage of the contacts and possibilities it offers.

The workshop given by the Olympic athletes, Gerard Descárrega and Marcos Blanquiño, has shown a project of improvement and teamwork called 1 + 1 = 1.

Descárrega and Blanquiño Paralympic champions in Athletics in the Olympic Games of Rio de Janerio in 2016 and gold in the Paralympic World Championship in London 2017.

Job Day UCAM Cartagena

It is the first edition of this job fair at the Los Dolores Campus of the UCAM in Cartagena and has been a success.

15 companies, including Repsol, the Recruitment Service of the Ministry of Defense, Adecco, Practiser, Eurofirms, ONCE Inserta Foundation, AJE Cartagena, Auren, Leroy Merlin, Randstad and Interempleo have installed a stand and participated in the round tables, which they have focused on the importance of transversal skills, the improvement of employability, the imprint of a personal brand, as well as taking advantage of the opportunities available to them, such as this Job Day.

The Job Day in Cartagena also had a workshop on Technology and Employment taught by Jorge Hierro Álvarez, CEO in Salta Communication and Digital Training.
