Young Socialists denounced the municipal government treated as "criminals" to users of the bike and pushes them to risk their lives. (07/06/2010)

JS de Murcia Municipal Center asks the Government to amend the Ordinance Regulating the Use of the Bicycle Murcia referred to as an ordinance is unfair and unjust.

Reported that such actions do not invite the public to use the bicycle as urban transport, rather it deters.

"This is an ordinance inconsistent and shows that the Popular Party would prefer to raise funds before the public awareness on the use of the bike," declared the young socialists.

The ordinance provides for excessive penalties for minor breaches of bikers and yet provides for fines for vehicles that invade unprotected bike lanes and the rider.

Socialist Youth argues that the City of Murcia should reward and encourage rather than punish, and should be more concerned about security and do things rather than by selling these gestures to the gallery and fundraising.

The Master Plan provides the bulk of the infrastructure such as roads shared cycle tracks in front of small number of unique paths or bike lanes.

The young socialists claim that "must ensure the safety of cyclists, not using us as" peacekeepers traffic "as argued by Councilwoman Martinez Cacha play us at risk of life, but the City Council providing safe routes for which the citizens can Bike use in our daily lives and reduce traffic and pollution. "

"After 15 years of great citizen mobilization and political pressure in the Consistory to convince the People's Party of the need for a bicycle lane in Murcia, could at least strive to make it safe and encourage their use," argued the young socialists who claim that the true merit of this achievement is collective and Murcia Bike Association or the spontaneous critical mass, so many years are behind this cause.
