The Department of Modernization of the Administration and Urban Development has also reviewed the playgrounds, has painted the banks in the area and has supervised the trees

The multicolored tones fill the surroundings of the Sanctuary of the Fuensanta.

The Department of Modernization of the Administration and Urban Development, through the concessionary company STV Gestión, has planted more than five hundred thoughts of different colors in the environment.

"The goal is to continue highlighting the beauty of a unique area in Murcia frequented by Murcia and visitors, for which the previous flower of season has been removed, the land has been aerated and has been properly watered," explains the mayor José Guillén .

This improvement is complemented by the complete revision of the playgrounds located there, the painting of the banks in the area as well as periodic supervision of the trees adjacent to the Fuensanta Sanctuary.

We must remember that last December an addendum to the agreement between the City Council and the Bishopric was approved in order to continue improving this environment.

Thus, the council will grant a grant to the Bishopric of Cartagena of 36,792 euros to perform various jobs on a plot of 1,322 square meters located on the hillside of Fuensanta, next to the sanctuary and the so-called House of Canons, although the major actions will be implemented in an area of ​​378 square meters in which is the viewpoint, platform and stairs.

Thus, the pavement will be replaced in the walks and viewpoints, including, in addition, the rails, pilasters and current decorations, the masonry will be restored in the walls of the lower platform and the stairs to the Cabildo's house, and the higher zones

The project also contemplates the repair of the coronations and the rest of the brick factories, and railings and metal elements will be placed to guarantee safety.

In addition, in August 2016 the refurbishment works were carried out in the back part of the Sanctuary, where the garden is extended, which consisted of the arrangement of the pedestrian walkway, the replacement of the curbs and the repair of the beds.

In addition, at the beginning of this year works were carried out on the ramp that gives access to the Sanctuary, guaranteeing security and a better access to this environment visited by thousands of faithful.
