Murcia will have mobile tourist information points in the major events that take place during the year (23/02/2018)

The Governing Board has given the green light to the award of the Municipal Tourist Information Service, which, from the next weeks, will be provided by Esatur XXI.

The main novelty of the new contract is the implementation of a system of additional counters of tourist information in different events and events that take place in the municipality.

In addition, it will remain as a central tourist information point located in the Plaza del Cardinal Belluga and as a complement to this the current information point of Murcia Center, located in Gran Vía, since it is a consolidated point, located in the main commercial artery of the city and through which thousands of tourists and visitors pass each year.

These two fixed points will be supported by stands and mobile tourist information booths at times of maximum influx of tourists caused by local events of great impact, in order to provide tourist information service to all tourists and visitors visiting Murcia in These events.

On an annual basis, an installation planning of these provisional points will be established according to the cultural and event calendar of the city of Murcia.

These stands will function as additional information points, in which tourist informants will offer general or specific leaflets of festivals and city plans, thus allowing the tourist information service to be extended to those places most visited by tourists, thus complementing the offer of current tourist offices in the city.

Thus, and according to the initial proposal for the installation of provisional or extraordinary information points, this new service would be offered in the Plaza de Santo Domingo during the Spring Festival, in the vicinity of FICA during the celebration of the WAM festival or in the Paseo del Malecón during the September Fair, as well as in the Auditorium during the celebration of national or international congresses.

Murcia Center will open from Tuesday to Friday from 17 to 21 hours and Saturdays from 10 to 14 and from 17 to 21 hours, basically covering the periods of greatest influx in stores and shops.

This schedule will be adapted and expanded if it detects that this point receives more requests for information.

In addition, the company that will provide the service will develop a proposal for the management and start-up of a space for the sale of souvenirs and souvenirs in Murcia as a measure of tourism promotion, study the feasibility of establishing a gastronomic tourist route and implement different actions to motivate to tourists who visit Murcia to go to the tourist information office, such as raffles, tastings of local tourism products, gifts of official merchandising ...
