The "Murcia Lan Party" was born in 2001, since then and year after year it has been growing in participants, activities and quality, so the organization has received different awards and recognitions.

The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, accompanied by the Councilor for Modernization of Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, José Guillén, and the Councilor for Health and Sports, Felipe Coello, presented this morning the Murcia Lan Party, an event that since yesterday As of this afternoon, it gathers more than a thousand computer lovers.
Some participants who will have the opportunity to enjoy more than 90 hours of high-speed sailing, tournaments, competitions, conferences and workshops, until Sunday December 10, at the Palace of Sports of Murcia.
The main novelty of this 16th edition is the opening of the Arena Zone, in an independent room, where the different videogame tournaments are played with state-of-the-art computers prepared to offer maximum performance to the participants.
The event, organized by the Association of the University of Murcia MURCIA LAN PARTY, together with the City of Murcia, through the Department of Modernization and Sports, with the collaboration of Telefónica Movistar, has 10,800 m of data network cable 4,200 m
of electrical cable and 2,250 plugs, and the help of 55 volunteers.
The participants will have an Internet connection of 10 Gbps, at the level of the countries with the fastest connections in the world such as Japan, and 100% of the user stations will have 1 GB / s connection.

In this sense, José Ballesta stressed during the visit to the Palacio de los Deportes that "the Murcia Lan Party is a benchmark nationwide, with assistants from all over the Spanish geography: just over 40% of the attendees come from another 32 Of the 60% that reside in the Region of Murcia, half do it in the municipality of Murcia and the other half in the rest of the municipalities of the Community, although the profile of the participant is mostly of young people, the ages range from 12 to 56 years old ".
Among the scheduled activities include 12 workshops and conferences with the following topics: Games in Linux, the Internet of things, Arduinos with Wifi, videogame development platforms, computer security, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality.
This sixteenth edition will also have 10 official videogame tournaments: League of Legends, Counter Strike GO, Starcraft 2, Overwatch, HeartStone, RocketLeague, Tekken 7, Fifa 18, Super Smash Bros, Wii U and Mario Kart 8.
Finally, participants can enjoy the competitions and surprise competitions, among which are: Foosball, Karaoke, Real Mario Kart, Virtual Trackmania, Real Mad-Max or other surprise competitions.
