The mayor Pilar Muñoz considers of vital importance that the City council extends the municipal aid to give support to the families Murcia with minors in charge and with basic social necessities
The councilor of Citizens Pilar Muñoz will present a motion in this month's Plenary to demand that the local government implement an ordinance to regulate a series of municipal economic aid for children, regardless of the agreements that the City has signed with entities private partnerships.
In this regard, Muñoz recalled that "Murcia suffers one of the highest rates of poverty, along with the highest dropout rate in Spain;
and that a good number of families Murcia has a bad time to reach the end of the month, more in seasons like the beginning of the school year.
In view of these circumstances - the mayor of the orange formation defended - the Consistory should get to work and extend this aid to facilitate the purchase of books and teaching materials, as well as the use of public transport, the acquisition of glasses, prostheses and oral treatments, in order to guarantee the adequate development of the minors of the municipality with economic difficulties.
"In some municipalities of the Region of Murcia as the one of San Javier or Lorca already have taken measures of this type to help the families more need to arrive at the end of the month with less effort", underlined Muñoz, who hopes "that the Consistory be sensitive and implement as soon as possible this ordinance of support to those families with minors in charge and with basic needs. "
